Another fine example of a 1980`s jersey kindly sent by my friend Robert in Roma - also another jersey given to him by Stefano Colage.

It`s a typically busy Italian team jersey of the period with a myriad of sponsors all fighting for space on the rider`s team jersey thanks to improvements in manufacturing techniques like dye-sublimation printing employed by the now defunct Italian manufacturer Alexander.

Rodolfo Massi was in his second year as a pro rider in 1988, but fast forward ten years he was riding for the successful Casino team at the Tour de France. He was 7th overall, leading the mountains classification after having won a mountain stage but he was then kicked off the race after corticoids were found in his hotel room.
