This aero team jersey was used from the Tour of Qatar launch up until the end of June when the team then rode a white version for the TdF.

The CTT team formed in late 2008 after Team CSC switched from Cervelo frames to Specialized. New team leaders Carlos Sastre and Thor Hushovd both had pretty good seasons with Hushovd taking his second green jersey at the Tour de France (holding off Mark Cavendish thanks to an epic breakaway in the mountains) and Sastre taking two stages in the 2009 Giro D`Italia as well as fourth overall.
This all-black version raised a few concerns for the up and coming Tour de France, so in late June 2009 Castelli released a "white version" of the kit that they said would provide some relief from the heat as well as an improved aero jersey design that would save 10 watts at 40km/h (40secs in a 40km time trial).
Team Sky now race all-year round in their all-black kit and in 2013 new clothing supplier Rapha opted to use a technical fabric that incorporates coldblack technology by Schoeller to help alleviate this problem from occuring.
Castelli really made the most of their association with the team. During the first year they setup a focus group of CervÈlo TestTeam riders who worked with their clothing engineers to develop and improve clothing for cold and wet conditions. During one of these sessions, Gabriel Rasch (nickname Gabba) came up with the idea of a stretchy, form- fitting short-sleeve rain jersey that could be paired with the water-resistant Nanoflex arm warmers to create an outfit that was perfectly geared to the foul weather of the Spring Classics. Now available to buy by the public, the Castelli Gabba WS Jersey is a foul-weather version of their Aero Race Jersey, which alot of non-Castelli team riders have been spotted wearing - naughty naughty!
