In 1995, former World Champion Gianni Bugno was signed by the team and in 1996 Michele Bartoli joined the team from Mercatone Uno, winning the Tour of Flanders for them that year. 1996 also saw Pascal Richard win the Olympic Road Race that was open to professional riders.
