This pink jersey was produced in 2006 to celebrate Ivan Basso`s victory in the Giro D`Italia.

After winning the team time trial with his CSC team mates, Basso won stage 8 on his own and then became unbelievably dominant in the final week of the race beating his main rivals winning stages 16 and 20 along the way to take the overall victory. Basso was then banned from starting the 2006 Tour de France due to rumours of blood doping stemming from the infamous Operacion Puerto investigation.
This is a celebration jersey by Descente (actually made by MOA Sport in Italy) to celebrate Basso`s win in that event. This is not an officially licensed leaders jersey as they are made by Santini.
Although I don`t have as many pink jerseys as the Ghisallo Museum, hopefully I can get a few online to show them off.
